Bradfield Waifs win first match in Over 50s Cricketer Cup

Yesterday saw the first match in the new Over 50s Cricketer Cup when Bradfield Waifs won at Winchester. The Old Wykehamists scored a a challenging 166-8 in their 35 overs, William Drew top-scoring with 51 not out. Ex-Hampshire cricketer, Will Kendall, just the right side of the age barrier, took 4-34. Bradfield made 170-5 in 32 overs in their run chase, James Kendall top scoring with 35. Will Kendall and Peter Came shared an unbeaten partnership of 36 to take them home. Only five teams have entered this year’s competition but it is hoped that more will join in 2025.
