Pictures from the Past - 1972 Final 50 Years on

The photos below come from an edition of The Tatler in 1972, depicting the 1972 final at Burton Court between Old Tonbridgians and Old Malvernians. They come from what seems a very different social age, sandwiched in the pages of The Tatler between society weddings and debutante dances. The Cricketer Cup final may not have the social panache which 1972 at Burton Court represented but the 2022 final at Arundel will still be a great occasion. The keen-eyed may spot in the top left hand photo the Tonbridge scorer who has become a renowned historian and political commentator, and a knight of the realm!.
