BEECHBROOK CAPITAL ANNOUNCED AS NEW TITLE SPONSOR FOR THE CRICKETER CUP
The Cricketer Cup is delighted to announce a new Title sponsor from 2025 onwards – Beechbrook Capital. They will assume the mantle from Nicholson, who will remain involved as a partner. The Beechbrook Capital Cricketer Cup will become the event’s new name.
Beechbrook Capital was founded by Paul Shea, an Old Tonbridgian who played for the 1st XI at school. The company was set up to provide loans and co-investments to support the growth of UK and European small-medium businesses. The company will be Title sponsor of the competition for a minimum of three years.
Paul Shea, Managing Partner, expressed his delight at becoming involved. “This is an exciting moment for Beechbrook Capital, and for me personally. We are thrilled to be the new headline partner of this great competition, which brings with it a great network of alumni and supporters, and continues to see a high standard of cricket with professionals still participating alongside their amateur team-mates. We look forward to adding what we can to the enjoyment of all of those who support this great competition, and helping it develop.”
Tim Elliott, Chair of the Cricketer Cup, was equally enthusiastic. “We are delighted to welcome Beechbrook Capital to The Cricketer Cup family, and thank Paul for his personal support and vision for how they could join forces with us. Paul understands the competition and I know they will be a great partner for us, especially as we bring in new initiatives such as the Over 50’s Cricketer Cup, and likewise continue to build on the numerous things we’ve done recently to re-connect with our base of alumni and supporters.”
“I would also like to pay tribute to Nicholson, who have been an excellent title sponsor for us since 2022 and have added greatly to the competition. We’re very pleased that they will continue to stay involved via providing gin for Player of the Match awards and supporting the Final, and I would personally like to thank Alex Johns for their sponsorship over the last three years plus their continued support into the future.”
Alex Johns, CEO of Nicholson, endorsed this. “We congratulate The Cricketer Cup and Beechbrook Capital on this new partnership, and we’re delighted to hand over the mantle after three successful and enjoyable years as Title sponsor. We hope we’ve added something to the story of this great competition, and I’m personally delighted that we will continue our association and hope that our products will continue to be seen at the lovely grounds around the country when the 2025 competition gets under way.”
