New Age Champion -Sir Oliver Popplewell

No sooner had Tony Wesson taken the crown for the oldest surviving Cricketer Cup player than a new champion has emerged. Sir Oliver Popplewell, former High Court judge, President of MCC, Cambridge University wicket-keeper and Charterhouse Friar is 96 years old. He won his Cambridge Blue in 1949, 1950 and 1951 and then played nine Cricketer Cup matches for the Friars from 1967-73.
