Old Wykehamists win bye round match

Old Wykehamists pulled off a surprise victory at Cranleigh in the bye round match today. Old Cranleighans, twice cup winners and three times runners-up in the last 15 years, were bundled out for only 139 in 41 overs on their home pitch. Henry Portman took 4-35 and the Wykehamists fielded very well. They then made short work of the target, scoring 141-4 in only 27 overs, Escott leading the way with 59 not out.
