Nick Gandon
Nick Gandon, who has died recently, played 33 matches for the Haileybury Hermits in the Cricketer Cup between 1976 and 2008, and was their leading run-scorer in the competition. He also played for Oxford University and Minor County cricket for Hertfordshire and Lincolnshire. Nick was a very well known figure in cricketing circles more widely, particularly for his work in the charitable sector. He was Director of the Cricket Foundation, where he was a driving force behind Chance to Shine that has done so much to revive cricket in state schools. He was also an active Member of MCC, serving on the MCC Committee from 2019-22, which he did with typical energy and determination.
