NICHOLSON GIN TO BECOME NEW TITLE SPONSOR

The Cricketer Cup Committee is delighted to welcome Nicholson Gin as our new title sponsor, coinciding with the relaunch of Britain’s oldest London Dry Gin  (March 28th) at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, London.

Nicholson’s sponsorship of the competition is highly appropriate with cricket playing a major part in the brand’s history. Way back in 1866, Nicholson lent money to MCC to purchase the freehold of Lord’s, and then in 1890 fund its iconic Pavilion which became known as The Gin Palace. Much more recently, Nicholson’s CEO Alex Johns played in the Cricketer Cup for Lancing, and three members of his family, Harold and Arthur Gilligan, and Peter May, all captained England, the latter also playing in the Cricketer Cup.

There will be more news soon regarding Nicholson’s plans for the 2022 Nicholson Cricketer Cup, which will include helping make the Final at Arundel Castle an even more special occasion, and creating a new Player of the Match award at every match.

Nicholson has been distilling high quality gin since 1736, and as well as being the first London Dry in the UK, was at the forefront of the growth in gin internationally, and featured strongly in the golden age of cocktail making in the 1920’s. It re-launches today, with a brand new bottle design for its signature London Dry, with more products to come this summer.

You can learn more about the brand’s long and illustrious history and buy the gin at www.nicholsongin.com, and all Cricketer Cup players, alumni and supporters can enjoy a 20% introductory discount when ordering online – simply input the offer code of Cricket1736 when ordering your gin.
