Haileybury Hermit Sam Billings makes Test debut
Congratulations to Old Haileyburian Sam Billings who is making his Test debut in the current Hobart Test. He made his Cricketer Cup debut for the Hermits at Old Merchant Taylors in 2013 and scored 66 at Cranleigh the following season. The England side in Hobart contains four who have played in the Cricketer Cup - Rory Burns, Zak Crawley, Olly Pope and Sam Billings. This is the first time since the 1961 Oval Test v Australia that the England side has included four players from the Cricketer Cup, when they were Raman Subba Row (Old Whitgiftians), Colin Cowdrey (Old Tonbridgians), Peter May (Charterhouse Friars) and Ted Dexter (Radley Rangers).
