Issy Wong takes hat-trick for Mumbai Indians in WPL Eliminator

Issy Wong, who learned her cricket at Shrewsbury School between 2015 and 2020, has taken the first hat-trick in the Women’s Premier League in India as her 4-15 helped Mumbai Indians to reach the final. She has also played for the England Test, ODI and T20 teams in 2022. In 2019 she became the first girl to play in Shrewsbury’s boys 1st XI. Her success, along with that of Lauren Bell (Bradfield) and Maia Bouchier (Rugby), in playing international cricket, is accelerating the plans to start a Cricketer Cup for women alumnae of our schools.
